Nurse Consultants for your small or large litigation needs

Prescott provides legal nurse consultants, highly experienced in their clinical areas, available for critical analysis of medical records and complete medical chronologies, among other services. The advantage of outsourcing the nurse review process is that the firm does not have to provide space, equipment, supervision, or training of the nurse staff. Prescott handles all of this with the specific litigation needs of our clients in mind. The nurse consultants working for Prescott have an average of over 10 years clinical experience, and many are still practicing in some capacity in their medical specialty areas, i.e., OB/GYN, Cardiology, Nursing Home, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Neurology, Oncology, etc. Because of the vast experience this brings to the review process, our work product is timely and more specific to the individual needs of the project. Prescott demands that the nurse consultants meet specific benchmarks for reviews, which help save on litigation costs. Despite the experience of Prescott's nurse consultants, our rates are very competitive and most companies save thousands of dollars on their individual cases.

Prescott's Nurse Consulting Division can provide expertise for individual cases that involve one plaintiff to mass torts that have hundreds of thousands of plaintiffs across the country. It is our job to help translate the medical records into a working document that is both understandable and on target to the specific litigation needs of the firm or corporation.

Legal Nurse Consultants have proven to be an indispensable tool to medical related litigation such as medical malpractice, toxic tort, product liability or personal injury. The benefits that a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) can bring to a litigation team are significant and can provide an attorney with a level of expertise not easily found through paralegal assistance. Not only can LNC's summarize medical records and prepare chronologies, but they can also identify standards of care, causation and damage issues. Their ability to interpret medical terminology and practice and apply it to legal issues is invaluable.

Experience, knowledge, resourcefulness and cost-effectiveness: An LNC has the clinical experience necessary to immediately understand and address causation and damage. An LNC has the knowledge necessary to understand how legal strategies can be applied to medical issues. An LNC also has the resources necessary to retrieve valuable information from the myriad of medical and professional journals and information networks. And, an LNC is the most cost effective way to identify strengths and weaknesses in a medical case.

What other benefits can the LNC bring to a litigation team?
  • Provide initial case screening for merit / triage
  • Conduct medical research
  • Conduct client and witness interviews
  • Identify and apply multidisciplinary standards of care and regulatory requirements
  • Educate attorneys regarding medical facts and issues
  • Assist with depositions and other elements of the discovery process
  • Locate and procure demonstrative exhibits
  • Act as a liaison between attorneys and physician or healthcare providers
